The innovative online TEACH-NOW teacher preparation certificate program was initiated under the National Center for Education Information with seed money from New Schools Venture Fund in November 2011. In June 2012, TEACHNOW, Inc. was established as a stand-alone corporation. The 9-month, 8-module TEACH-NOW teacher preparation program was accredited and approved by the District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education to lead to a full, regular, 4- year renewable teaching license in February 2013. TEACH-NOW began its first cohort of 10 candidates in March 2013. In November 2013, TEACH-NOW was also granted teacher preparation program approval by the Arizona State Department of Education.
In March 2015, TEACHNOW, Inc. d/b/a Educatore School of Education applied to the District of Columbia Higher Education Licensure Commission to be an Institution of Higher Education. On July 2, 2015, the HELC granted a Certificate of License to Operate an Institution of Higher Education to TEACHNOW, INC. d/b/a Educatore School of Education. On January 11, 2018, the HELC approved a name change to “TEACH-NOW Graduate School of Education.”
